PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX –  Day two action of the 2026 Women's Cancun Challenge picked up where yesterday's left off at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, hosted by Triple Crown Sports. The morning matchup featured nationally ranked North Carolina taking on Big 12 opponents Kansas State, followed by two mid-major powers in South Dakota State and Columbia. The evening slate boasted No. 25 NC State taking on Southern Miss, No. 8 TCU squaring off against UAB and Green Bay taking on Richmond to finish out day two.

No. 12 North Carolina 85, Kansas State 73
Taking on Big 12 mainstay in Kansas State for its second game at the Cancun Challenge, No. 12 North Carolina fired off 14 triples to earn the 85-73 win. The 14 threes drained by the Tar Heels matched the program single-game record and did so for the third time under Courtney Banghart. Coming together as a team, North Carolina (7-1), withstood a challenge from Kansas State (5-4) to earn its first win over a Power Four team this season. Scoring a season-high 15 points and matching her career-high with four triples, Lanie Grant paced the Tar Heels on the offensive end.

Columbia 80, South Dakota State 67
Weiss Ignites in the 4th Quarter to Lead Columbia Past South Dakota State, 80-67

Riley Weiss scored a season-high 31 points, including a program-record 19 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Columbia women's basketball team to an 80-67 victory over South Dakota State on Friday. The game was Columbia's second of three at the 2025 Cancun Challenge, which is being hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.

No. 25/24 NC State Dominates Southern Miss with Cancun Challenge Record 110 Points

The No. 25/24 NC State women's basketball team led in wire-to-wire fashion vs. Southern Miss at the 2025 Cancun Challenge, defeating the Golden Eagles 110-56. The Pack's 110 points marked a new Cancun Challenge record. The Pack's 110 points marked a new Cancun Challenge record, surpassing UConn's 109 points scored in 2008.

No. 8 TCU 82 , UAB 61
Miles matches NCAA season-opening record for 15-point, five-assist games

TCU's three-headed monster of Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez and Donovyn Hunter roared once more on the final day of their Cancun Challenge trip. The trio teamed up for 53 points as the eighth-ranked Horned Frogs waltzed to an 82-61 victory over UAB on Friday at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.

It was the sixth time in eight tries that all three players combined to score 50-plus. Miles, Suarez and Hunter collectively have tallied at least 48 points in all eight of the Horned Frogs wins.

Richmond 76, Green Bay 59
Doogan, Ullstrom Lead Richmond Past Green Bay in Cancún Finale
Behind Rachel Ullstrom's second career double-double and 25 points from Maggie Doogan, the University of Richmond women's basketball team rounded out its time in Cancún, Mexico with a 76-59 win over Green Bay Friday night. With the win, the Spiders improved to 6-2 on the season while Richmond handed UWGB its third loss of the year at 5-3.
