PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX – Rice outscored Vermont by a margin of 47-22 in the middle two quarters Friday, fueling the Owls to victory in Riviera Division play at the Women’s Cancun Challenge.
 
The Owls (5-3) hit 12 3-pointers on 25 attempts and were 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. Victoria Flores scored 18 points, Emily Klaczek rang up 17 points, Dominique Ennis added 14 points and Hailey Adams had nine rebounds.
 
Rice shot 49 percent from the field, enjoyed a 36-25 lead in rebounds and forced 17 turnovers.
 
The Catamounts (4-5) saw Anna Olsen score 15 points; Keira Hanson added 14 points and Catherine Gilwee scored 10 points.
